The Senior Volleyball team headed out to face the top seeded DSBN Academy in the first round of Senior Boys Volleyball playoffs this week.

In front of DSBN fans our boys took to the court as confident as ever. Leading the first set 15 to 12 the RLA boys were ready to pull away. However, with two close calls that could have gone either way going to DSBN, instead of the score being 17 to 12 it was 15 to 14. Frustrated and distraught the boys kept fighting. Making DSBN earn every point they got. It was close all throughout the night, but our Loyalists came out on the losing end, losing consecutive sets 25 to 23 and 25 to 21. 

“As a coach you ask the boys to lay it all on the line and give it everything they got. They did that,” said Coach Lt Ahlstedt of the team. “We set out to achieve playoffs and we reached our goals. Next year we build off what we did this year, and we make a run at the championship.”

The years of experience we are getting with our boys is helping develop a solid core of athletes. Basketball try-outs started this week, and our solid core of athletes are looking ahead to the basketball season.
