C Company Report

By Barman Kaba – Before joining Robert Land Academy (RLA), I attended a French curriculum school that was located in Montreal, and the transition from a French school to an English curriculum school was challenging. However, RLA helped me in many different ways, allowing me to develop essential skills that I can take into the workforce and my university studies. These skills include time management, team working, and community work.

Throughout my four years at RLA, I gained valuable experience in these skills through various activities and programs. As someone who was not used to using my time wisely and efficiently, I learned how to manage my time better, enabling me to stop procrastinating on tasks like homework and cleaning. By working in a team on tasks like cleaning, sport, and teamwork, I discovered how to delegate responsibilities and manage our time efficiently, making it possible to achieve our goals within a set timeframe given to us.

One of the unique things about RLA is its focus on community involvement around the Wellandport area. RLA encourages its students to go out into the community and help with various tasks like bottle drives, food banks, and other community work. This aspect of the school allowed me to build social skills, self-esteem, and a sense of community. I learned how to collaborate with others, communicate effectively, and develop leadership skills, all of which have been valuable in my personal life.

The skills I learned at RLA are not only useful for academic and professional settings but also for life in general. Effective time management, team working, and community work are skills that can help me succeed in all aspects of life. Time management is essential in managing daily tasks and responsibilities as well as achieving long-term goals. Working in a team is crucial in almost every field, and the ability to work effectively in a team is a highly sought-after skill on the job market. Community work helped me to develop a sense of empathy, compassion, and social responsibility, contributing to my personal growth and development as a human being.

Robert Land Academy (RLA) has played an essential role in preparing me for university while maintaining a strong connection with my family. The skills and experiences that I gained at RLA have provided me with a solid foundation to succeed in higher education. The emphasis on academic excellence, community involvement, and leadership development at RLA has taught me the importance of hard work, dedication, and perseverance, all of which are necessary for success in university. Moreover, RLA encouraged a sense of community and support, which has helped me build strong relationships with my peers and mentors, something that will be invaluable during my university years. Additionally, the family-like environment at RLA made me feel safe, cared for, and supported, which gave me the confidence and motivation to reach my full potential in every discipline.

In conclusion, attending RLA has been a life-changing experience for me. It provided me with the opportunity to develop critical skills like time management, team working, and community work, which will help me succeed in my future studies and career. These skills have also helped me become a well-rounded individual and contributed to my personal growth and development equipping me with the necessary skills, knowledge, and support to achieve my academic and personal goals.
