A Coy Attend First Volleyball Tournament

A Coy boys attended their first Volleyball Tournament at Cayuga Secondary School on Tuesday, competing against four other schools and hopeful to make playoffs.

The day started off promising with the boys putting up a good fight against a strong team from Reinham. Ammar A showed signs of being the best player on the court but the Loyalists couldn’t overcome some untimely mistakes and ended up losing both sets by scores of 25 to 19 and 25 to 23.

The promising start was met by a brick wall when they met the soon to become champions from Thompson Creek. The boys learned a valuable lesson about sticking together through tough times during these two games losing both sets 25 to 10 and 25 to 15. Great serves by Seif E.

Third game the boys were pumped. They faced Oneida who the boys thought they could beat after watching their game earlier on in the day. The boys came out cold however and put 13 serves into the net. They fought and clawed for every point they got that game but still ended up coming up a little bit short and losing 25 to 23.  Onto the second match and the boys were tense. Wanting that first win so bad they could taste it. Back and forth battle for every point. But when the dust settled the Loyalists came up the slightest bit short again losing 25 to 23.

The day was about learning and I was proud of the boys for the games they fought so hard for.
