On Thursday students in Lt Hancock’s Grade 9 science class were introduced to the upgraded science lab by doing the popular Mentos mints dropped in Coca Cola. After reading and signing a code of conduct for the lab, the students were permitted in the science lab for their first experiment. While mints in soda pop is a harmless experiment, it was used as a demonstration of lab protocol and safety procedures so when they do conduct more serious experiments, they are safe.
