Cadets Particpate in Marksmanship Competition

OCdt. J.T. Lewis, 2968 RCACC – Cadets from 2968 RCACC recent- competed against several other corps of the NGTA in a marksmanship competition, on March 4 and 5th Robert Land Academy hosted the Niagara and Greater Toronto stage 1 marksmanship competition.

MCpl. Elias Braun, MCpl. Vidhya Petit, Cpl. Stephan Paterson, Cpl. Colton Bridges and Cpl. Johann Mayer competed in the competition against cadets from around the region.

Overall, the team finished 6th place out of seven teams.

“It was a great effort by our cadets,” said 2968 RCACC commanding officer Leo Giovenazzo, CD. “It’s re-ally good to see them participate in these events, events like this helps to create team cohesiveness.”

It was a difficult struggle for the cadets of 2968 as they were still learning about the principles of marksmanship as they neared the competition date.

“Braun couldn’t seem to hit the tar-get when he started preparing for the competition, but, after practice and working on some skill sets, he did well,” Giovenazzo said.

Braun had a 56% average at the end of the competition.

The top shooters for the team were Paterson with a 74% average, followed by Petit with a 72.5% aver-age.
