On Monday, Jan. 16, 2023, Cdt. Dimias Sutherland and Cdt. Thomas Uzan went to a small tournament held at The Bishop’s Keep in St. Catharines.  This was the first of eleven evenings for this tournament.

Cdt Sutherland defeated all of his opponents. One of his victories was over a club member who has been undefeated.

Cdt Uzan played well but could not close his advantages that he developed in each of his games. Unfortunately, Cdt Uzan lost all of his games.

The boys enjoyed themselves thoroughly.  I experienced a ride back to the Academy where the only topic of discussion was chess. This in itself made the experience worth it.
