On June 8-9 seven of our students and one teacher passed their PADI Open Water Scuba Diver course. The PADI Open Water Scuba course is the first course that divers take in exploring the underwater world.

Ian Bundas, James Oliver, from A Coy, Wyatt Kinsella, and Falcon Towne from B Coy, and Olumuyiwa Osibanjo, Kamal Seghosime, and Nickolas Thompson, plus Lt. Paula Sinclair started the course in early May. Throughout May, there was a mix of classroom and pool sessions which got the divers ready for their open water checkouts June 8/9 at the Welland Scuba Park, part of the Welland Recreational Canal

Under the instruction of Kenn Jones of Dan’s Dive Shop in St. Catharines, the divers perfected their drills and learned about safe diving practices.
